Background

Pax Medical Centre is an outpatient medical facility in Karatina town, Nyeri county, that serves as a one stop center where specialized services are offered by a range of medical consultants. The facility has a well-equipped laboratory and pharmacy and offers other services such as Antenatal and Postnatal care (ANC and PNC), Child Welfare Clinic (CWC), Child growth monitoring and immunization, Hypertension and Diabetes follow-up, Physiotherapy, Nutritional counselling, psychological counselling and speech therapy. The facility was started by a group of medical doctors working in Nyeri county and its environs who realized a gap in quality, specialized and affordable medical care in Karatina. They dedicated their resources towards developing a center that would help bridge this gap. In addition to offering quality and specialized care, they were dedicated and passionate about establishing a centre that focused on providing holistic care to its clients and where the clients would experience peace and
compassion, hence the name Pax, which means peace in Latin.
